Summary

• Told as flashback story by Rocket and Groot to a bunch of alien campers, continued from Rocket Raccoon and Groot #1

Lord Rakzoon is torturing Groot in his royal torture dungeon, until Groot explains why he came to his planet to kill him.

Groot explains, 8 months earlier, he woke on a strange planet not remembering how he got there, where Rocket was and covered in strange carving in his bark like skin. Groot quickly learns the carving are clues to where Rocket was taken.

Groot goes to Knowhere and talks with Cosmo who sends him to Earth to talk to Iron Man, Spider-man, Ms Marvel and Howard the Duck, all who give him more clues. Groot then travels the cosmos dealing with Gods and fight wars all the time looking for Rocket, but to no avail.

It isn't till Groot is watching television when he see Lord Rakzoon who looks just like Rocket that Groot learns his friend thinks he's the tyrant. Groot hires Pocket Possum and Shrub to take him to Lord Rakzoon's planet. Which brings the story to the present.

Lord Rakzoon, finds Groot's story laughable, and plans to destroy Groot all for fun.
